SUPERNOVA sn2004dj in NGC 2403

VC200L @ f6.4 + Vesta SC3 'PIPCAM' in RAW mode

50x 10sec

 

At mag +12, this is the brightest supernova for some time (It was clearly visible in the eyepiece even thought the host galaxy was barely visible against the bright background sky) The spectrum shows it to be a type II supernova.
