Computer control of the Alpy Calibration Module via USB
using an FTDI USB to UART module

The serial link RTS and DTR lines from the USB to serial module are fed to the Flat and Calib remote control sockets via MOSFET switches which convert the 5v logic levels to ~ 0, 10V

This technique of using the RTS TDR lines is typically used by software to control DSLR shutters and long exposure modified webcams etc. The "Port Commander" function in K3CCD Tools is currently being used for control, though a bespoke program could be written.

The components are housed in a small box which plugs directly into the three Alpy Calibration module sockets
